Metallography

Metallography is the science and art of preparing a metal surface for analysis by grinding, polishing and etching to reveal microstructural constituents. After preparation, the sample can be analyzed using optical or electron microscopy. A skilled technician is able to identify alloys and predict material properties and processing conditions by metallography alone.

The Bimac Corporation produces castings to exact specifications and customer requirements. Each batch of metal we produce is analyzed for specific chemical elements by our in-house metallurgist and subjected to various chemical and mechanical tests.
